So this week marks my ‘500 views’ goal post along with my 20 followers mark!

Now, to the expert blogger this is no big deal.

To the novice?  a huge one.

Some facts for you:

That is on average –

  • 13.2 views per day
  • 92.4 views per week
  • 400.4 views per month
  • 0.5 Followers per day
  • 3.7 Followers per week
  • 16 Followers per month

These figures demonstrate to me that people actually read this thing!

*little happy dance*

WordPress Wednesdays!

A blog I have been completely gripped to this past week is Hopes and Dreams.

I think I stumbled across it through a link on Pinterest, but ever since I did, I have read it word for word, right back from when it started in November 2009.

This blog is written predominantly by Jessi, wife to John.  Although, John does get his word in every now and again!

In a nut shell (I wouldn’t want to ruin the story for you, obviously you are going to hop right over there once you have read this..) Jessi and John are Latterday Saints and met from a distance at church (I am saying this all in my own words so if anyone feels the need to correct any of the deets then please do comment!) following a rather lovely first date, they got to know each other more and John popped the question.. wedding to follow.. baby to follow that..

That’s all you’re getting from me on the story front, you will have to go and check it out for yourselves for all the nitty-gritty.. They are the perfect level of cute, cheesy, romantic and real.

Anyway.. a post that really caught my eye was this one.

I feel I can relate to it on many levels.  I am sure I am not the only one who has read blogs (Hopes and dreams included) and thought ‘I wish my life was that hunky dory..’ or looked through Facebook photos and thought ‘why isn’t my life so exciting and adventurous!?’

But in reality?  neither is theirs (as in anybody’s.. not Jessi and Johns.. I am pretty sure theirs is amazing!) but you get my drift.. and the drift of Jessi’s post.

No one has a Facebook album entitled ‘The Bad Times’ do they?!  People post the good because that is what is important to focus on.

Everyone faces trials and tribulations, granted, some more that others, but people don’t like to boast about them.

Anyway, I guess what I am saying is this post was a real eye opener for me.

It was a chance for me to realise that I am not the only weirdo out there that thinks everyone else’s life is perfect. Continue reading

A working progress

I figured that I kind of enjoy cooking.

I also figured that I kind of enjoy keeping this blog.

I am also doing a module in Math for my degree.

Therefore I have come to the following conclusion:

Food + Blog = Food Blog!

Food good Fridays – The blog, coming soon to a screen near you!

(I hate being such a cheese ball..) Continue reading

Beauty School Drop Out

Well, not actually beauty school.. just school.

Well, not technically school.. just a module.

I feel like a failure.

I just feel so overwhelmed and stressed at the moment and feel the only way I can deal with this is to cut some of the stressfulness from my life.

I mean, I have to keep the important things – like my blog.. right?!

So I have been thinking about my degree (you may need to concentrate here as it gets a bit complicated)

Basically, I am doing a degree in Leadership and Management.

The degree is made up of 360 credits.

330 of those credits are pretty much set up for you.  The other 30 is free choice.

I chose to do my free choice in Social Science.

What a mistake that was.

So at the moment I am doing a module in maths and a module in social science.

I just feel completely overwhelmed.

So here’s my thinking:

I would rather get a phenomenal good mark in one subject than an average/below average mark in two.

So I have made my decision and I am sticking too it.

Tomorrow I am calling the uni and withdrawing my place on the module.

The only thing that will stop me is them.

Food good Fridays!

We’ve had the mains, we’ve had the dessert.. it’s time for *drum roll please..*

The Cake Batter Martini!

‘What could possibly be in such a glorious looking drink?!’ I hear you cry.

Well, look no further, this beauty is made up of:

3 ounces Three Olives Cake Vodka
3 ounces white/clear creme de cacao
2 ounces amaretto
2 ounces heavy whipping cream
1 ounce Godiva white chocolate liqueur
sprinkles (I used nonpareils)

(I must admit – when I read this I did get a sudden pang of disappointment.. I was hoping for actual cake batter.  No such luck.)

WordPress Wednesdays

So, I am going to be honest, I have been a little busy. And when I say ‘a little busy’ I mean, I haven’t actually been in the country for the past 7 days (by the time you are reading this anyway..) so I have pre-written 10 days worth of blogs (today is in fact … Continue reading

WordPress Wednesdays

Suffer the midweek blues no longer! An eclectic kind of love would like to present WordPress Wednesdays! What would a blog on social networking be without a weekly post on the blogging community? This week, I would like to share with you a video found on Ibrar Yunus’s blog Rain – Full Sketch Progress Ibrar … Continue reading

Taking over the Internet.

It somehow seemed wrong to base an eclectic kind of love on the social network phenomenon without having a way to try and test them for myself. With so many sites out there it is hard to decide which to sign up for so I thought ‘what the heck’ and went for my three favourites. … Continue reading

Blog all about it.

For a while now I have been a part of this incredible blogging world.  Reading, deliberating, commenting. For an equally long while I have been considering ways in which I can become a more active member of the blogging community. My problem?  I have the attention span of a pea. And yes, for the purpose of … Continue reading
